Case Study
Multi-State Fiber Build Program
Underground fiber installation across multiple states for a regional ISP expansion program
Overview
T&O Underground was brought in as the primary self-performing subcontractor for a regional ISP's multi-state fiber expansion program. Our crews handled every phase of the underground build — from initial trenching and conduit placement through fiber blowing, handhole installation, and complete in-house restoration — without relying on third-party labor.
The Challenge
Coordinating simultaneous crews across multiple state lines required tight logistics, consistent quality control, and real-time communication with the prime contractor. Varying permitting requirements, soil conditions, and right-of-way restrictions demanded an experienced team capable of adapting quickly without sacrificing schedule.
Our Approach
We deployed dedicated crews to each active corridor, each led by a T&O field supervisor. Daily production reporting kept the prime contractor informed at every stage. Our in-house restoration capability eliminated subcontractor scheduling delays and ensured every disturbed surface was returned to pre-construction condition.
